Frequently Asked Questions
Our Play Sessions (Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings) are operated as drop-in sessions, however, for all other sessions, you must book in advance. Our Forest School sessions, ESL classes, and baby groups are run through monthly membership packages.
To help children get the most out of sessions, we ask that they come fully prepared with comfortable, weather appropriate clothing each time. Please avoid sending your child in anything you don’t want to get muddy. Please, bring a spare change of clothes.

Forest School
Use this space to provide your website visitors with a brief description on what to expect before clicking on a section title.
Forest School is a child-led, nature-based way of learning that supports the whole child. Through regular time outdoors, children are free to explore, challenge themselves, and grow in confidence, resilience, and independence.
Children under 2 must be accompanied by an adult. For older children, it’s up to you! You’re very welcome to stay and join in, and parents are encouraged to get involved and share the experience.
At the same time, Forest School is a great space for building confidence and independence, so children are also supported to explore, take risks, and solve problems on their own. Many families choose to stay at first, then move to drop-off once their child feels settled — you can see what feels right for both of you.
Our Forest School groups are mixed-age (typically 2–6 years), which works naturally within a child-led environment. Children engage at their own level, learning from each other. We support this by gently guiding, adapting activities, and extending language to suit each child. This approach creates a calm, collaborative space and supports strong social, emotional, and language development.
Sessions run in most weather, as long as conditions are safe. The site and forecast are checked in advance, and weather is monitored throughout, with attention to appropriate clothing, hydration, and safety (especially in wind or extreme conditions).
If weather or any other situation poses a risk to safety or wellbeing, sessions may be cancelled. Families will be informed as soon as possible via message or online updates.
Activities and learning opportunities may vary from session to session, but children can expect a rich range of experiences rooted in nature and play. These may include bushcraft using Forest School tools, campfire building, lighting and storytelling, cooking over the fire, den building, and making music. Sessions often include child-led play, collaborative games, team-building and problem-solving activities, as well as physical challenges such as obstacle courses. Children will also have opportunities for nature and wildlife discovery, observation and identification, alongside creative experiences like nature art, craft, and sensory play.
Each child is permitted 1 catch-up session per month for missed sessions due to personal reasons. In cases of severe weather or public holidays,
additional catch-up sessions will be arranged. These sessions will be agreed upon collaboratively within the membership group.
