About

We are an alternative education programme centred on outdoor, nature-based learning experiences for children. We believe in children’s right to play. Children deserve time, space, and freedom to explore in their own way. Our approach is child-led, play-based, and rooted in nature, where learning happens through real experiences rather than instruction.

We are passionate about getting children outdoors. Living in a city can mean that many children do not have the same opportunities to simply play outside, get muddy, and connect with the natural world. Spending time outdoors supports curiosity, creativity, and a sense of calm. It allows children to slow down, notice their surroundings, and engage more deeply.

Our sessions are built around open-ended invitations to play. We provide materials, space, and guidance, while leaving room for children to follow their own ideas and interests. Each session is shaped by the children, the season, and the environment. Our sessions include opportunities for exploration, imaginative play, nature-based crafts, and practical outdoors skills. Children might build, create, climb, dig, observe, or spend quiet time in nature.

We encourage children to take managed risks, from balancing on logs, to lighting campfires, and using real tools. Through these experiences, children build confidence, learn to assess risk, and develop a sense of capability. We support children in developing resilience through challenge, problem-solving, and perseverance. By giving children the space to try, make mistakes, and try again, they build independence and learn to trust themselves.
